Fun in the snow

Tyra and Brett Are the only ones brave enough to actually enjoy the snow. They tromped around today and even tried to sled down the small mounds where the snow had been plowed. They had a lot of fun. I liked watching them from inside the warm house.

Thanks Merle!!

We are getting more snow this year than Moses Lake has had in a long time. Our driveway is gravel, so we just decided to plow through it. This worked with the first few storms. Today it worked for Eric driving my bug and I took the Denali. Cole got stuck in our driveway! He just skipped the whole day. This afternoon Merle came and plowed the whole driveway and helped Cole get his car unstuck! What a great guy! I know you read this Merle, so thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU!!! Don't get mad, but I even took your picture

BRETTISMS

1. Tonight during FHE, someone mentioned President Hinckley. I explained to Brett that he had passed away yesterday. Someone added that he had gone back to live with Heavenly Father. Brett asked me if he died when he fell off the earth. :)

2. Brett has watched a lot of old video footage of the Beatles. Today Cole was watching a more recent concert of Ringo Starr. Brett walked in and Cole said "look it's Ringo!" Brett looked at the TV and said "he looks different, I think he got a haircut."

We love you President Hinckley

Yesterday we had a great Stake Conference where we sustained a new Stake Presidency. Then last night Zach came in my room and told me President Hinckley had passed away. Tyra was a bit sad at first, but it was a good opportunity to remind her how happy he must be reunited with his sweet wife. President Hinckley was the coolest. We will all miss him, but I am so happy for him!

Brrrr it's cold!!

We are having some issues with the heater today and it was below zero this morning. I am sitting here in a cold house waiting for the electrician to call. Good time to get under a blanket and blog a few things.

Slade loves anything athletic. Lately he lists his favorite sports as soccer, hockey and basketball in that order. That makes me sad, because I like basketball the best. He has been participating in Little Dribblers at the high school on Saturday mornings. The culmination was performing at half time Saturday night. Slade did awesome!!!

Brett gave a talk in Primary last week. He did so good!! We tried to reinact it for video when we got home. He added some extra giggles, but you get the idea. I asked him if he wanted me to hold his pictures for him and he said no he wanted Cole. Figures!!!

Happy Birthday Zach!!!

He wanted a Hummer--this was the best I could do.

Lots of friends came over and played video games.

Some cute girls also stopped by to surprise him.

I hope you have an awesome year Zach!

New Year, new job!

Eric has moved his Ephrata practice into Office Anesthesia and Dentistry. His staff came with him and a lot of things stayed the same. The best changes--1. He didn't have to drive to Ephrata on the slick roads, 2. We got to go to lunch together!!!!

Superman....?

Kevin gave Slade a really cool Superman shirt that actually blows up and makes it look like whoever is wearing it is really buff. Today was a snow day and I really think that gave Zach too much time to find something goofy to amuse himself. He got the Superman shirt and put it on. How he got it on, I don't understand. It says the ages are 4-7. Zach is thin enough that once it was on it still was okay around him. But then he wanted to get it off and his shoulders would not bend the same way he got it on. He was seriously stuck! I couldn't stop laughing. I tried to help him and we even tried taking his shirt off with it, but we could not get his arms up through it and over his shoulders. Finally as a last result, I got the seam ripper and unpicked the seam so that I can easily fix it. Zach was so excited when it was on and blown up. He was certain that he would wear it to school on the next spirit day. I think we might just keep this for Slade, so that I don't have to unpick and sew every time it is worn. Luckily we got some pictures.
